The Susquehanna County Housing/Redevelopment Authority will hold their second Public Hearing regarding the 2021 Community Development Block Grant Program at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday October 6, 2021 at the New Milford Creekside Apartments Community Room, 682 Church St, New Milford, PA 18834. The purpose of this hearing is to obtain public comments on the following Proposed use of Susquehanna County’s allocation for (FFY) 2021 Entitlement Community Development Block Grant(CDBG);
Proposed use of FFY 2021 CDBG funds includes Sidewalks in the Borough of Hop Bottom, Street and Road Repairs in the Borough of Susquehanna Depot, Water Improvements in New Milford Borough and Parks/Recreation Facilities Improvements in Oakland Borough and Great Bend Borough.
Also to be discussed at the Public Hearing, will be a Modification to the FY20 Community Development Block Grant- Corona Virus Program(CDBG-CV). The County proposes to delete the Business Assistance Activity and replace it with a Housing Rehabilitation Program with a Concentration on assisting homes under the Healthy Housing Protocols to aid in the Prevention of COVID-19.
The Susquehanna County Commissioners will consider approval of the County FFY 2021 Entitlement application and Modification of the CDBG-CV application at their regular meeting to be held at 9 am Wednesday October 13, 2021 at the Susquehanna County Courthouse in the Commissioners Meeting Room, Montrose PA. The PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has announced the application submission deadline to be October 28, 2021.
Interested persons may inspect the applications between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00 pm, or direct written comments to the CDBG administrator at the address listed above, prior to the public comment deadline of 3:00 pm Wednesday October 6, 2021
