Sealed bids will be received by the Susquehanna County Housing/Redevelopment Authority, 33 Public Avenue, Montrose PA 18801 (570) 278-5401 until 2:00 P.M., on Thursday October 8th, 2020 at which time they will be opened and read aloud for the following two sidewalk projects:
- Borough of Susquehanna East Church St Sidewalk Replacement Project, Susquehanna, PA 18847
- Base bid consists of Replacement of approximately 535 sy concrete sidewalk
On both sides of East Church St along with ADA compliant curb ramps,
- Oakland Borough Westfall Ave Sidewalk Replacement Project, Oakland, PA 18847
- Base bid consists of Construction of approximately 190 sy concrete sidewalk on east side of Westfall Ave from Mannering Lane to East Boyden St. along with ADA compliant curb ramps.
A maximum construction budget has been established for the projects. The limit of work is intended to capture as much of what is shown on the plans as possible. If the accepted bid allows, the sidewalk reconstruction will be expanded to areas adjacent to the reconstruction shown on the plans.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday October 1, 2020 at 9:00am starting at the corner of East Church Street and Broad Avenue, Susquehanna, PA 18847.
Bona fide Prime Contract Bidders may examine and secure copies of the proposed Contract Documents, including Specifications and Project Manual from the Susquehanna County Housing/Redevelopment Authority, at the above address.
Bid security in the form of a certified or cashiers check or Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the bid will be required to accompany all bids. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond within ten(10) days after Notice of Award.
Attention of bidders is called to the Federal Requirements in the Contract Documents including but not limited to Equal Employment Opportunity, nondiscrimination in hiring practices, goals for minority and female participation, MBE and WBE participation, participation by Section 3 residents and businesses, and related matters. Prevailing wages established under the Davis-Bacon Act will apply to this contract. Bidders must submit with their bids the non-collusion affidavit contained in the contract documents. Bid Envelopes to be plainly marked with the name of the project and mailed or delivered to the Susquehanna County Housing/Redevelopment Authority, address listed above.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids.
